# Getting started

> Try the app, set it up, and find help.

## Try it first

<Card title="r/tradepostplayground" icon="flask" href="https://www.reddit.com/r/tradepostplayground/">
  Trade Post is installed there and nothing in it is a real trade. Open the
  pinned post and use it the way a trader would: add an item, publish a listing,
  make an offer on somebody else's.
</Card>

Nothing you do in the playground touches a live subreddit, and nothing there
carries over to one. Storage is separate per community, so a trade count earned
in the playground stays in the playground.

## Set it up, or use it

    Five setup steps. An unconfigured install works, because every default

[What Trade Post is](/what-it-is) covers the feature set and the limits before
either path gets specific.

Check [troubleshooting for traders](/traders/troubleshooting) or
[troubleshooting for moderators](/moderators/troubleshooting) first. [Getting
help](/support) lists what to put in a report, and what to keep out of one.
