Trade Post turns your subreddit’s posting rules into a composer, records trades,
and keeps the evidence. Listings stay real Reddit posts and offers stay real
Reddit comments, made under the trader’s own account.
What it does
- Enforces your rules at publish time. Title schema, region format, photo
requirements and condition vocabulary become the composer. A listing that
breaks them is never posted, so it never reaches your queue.
- Updates trade counts. Confirmed trades write user flair, or post the comment
your existing bot already reads.
- Records every resolved trade on a mods-only wiki page in your subreddit, with
a permalink to the thread. Reddit versions every revision.
- Answers “has this trader done this before”. Look up a trader for completions,
back-outs with the stated reason, and people who went silent past a deadline.
What it does not do
No payments, no escrow, no linking out to a payment site. No dispute arbitration;
both sides confirm and the app keeps the record. No cross-subreddit reputation, and
no trade history visible to anyone but you.
Requirements
The app account needs moderator permissions in your subreddit.
- Writing user flair, for trade counts.
- Writing the ledger, on a mods-only unlisted wiki page.
- Posting the closing notice when a stalled trade resolves.
- Filing a trader’s report into your modqueue.
The flair half is optional. Trade Post keeps its own count in every mode, so
declining it costs nothing.
