Listing format

How Trade Post builds a listing title.

Defaults reproduce the bracketed [Region] [H] … [W] … format most trade subreddits use.

Generated titles

With the defaults and a region of US-NY:

One item names its condition and price. Several are listed until the title budget runs out, then counted. The [W] half falls back to Offers when the lister and the subreddit both say nothing.

Reddit caps titles at 300 characters. The region tag, both bracket tags, item names and wants all compete for it. Wants are truncated first, then items fall back to +N more. Raising Wants shown in the title mostly buys shorter item lists; the rest still appear in the post body.

Condition options

Stored as keys, not as the words you type: lowercased, with anything that is not a letter or digit turned into a hyphen. Like New is like-new, Mint+ is mint.

• Re-wording keeps existing items only if the key is unchanged. Mint to Mint condition strands them; Mint+ to Mint does not.
• Two options producing the same key collapse, first wins. Mint and mint are one option. Like New and LikeNew are two.
• The key is what a spreadsheet import uses, not the label.

Changing this never rewrites stored items. An item on a removed condition keeps it, rendered by title-casing the key.

Allow asking prices

Turning this off is retroactive. Prices disappear everywhere, including on items priced beforehand.

With it off, no item has a stated value, so every item counts as trade-only for photo requirements.

Looking-for options

Leave blank and listers say what they want in their own words. Fill it in and turn off Allow listers to type their own wants to restrict them to your list. A blank list with free text off is treated as open.

Wants are stored as text and never linked.
